Join us as we formally celebrate the Don & Eileen Klein Nature Trail extension with the Fred & Barbara Malpass Platform at the Rogers Family Homestead Nature Preserve.

• Thursday, May 28 at 12:00 pm
• Outside the Jordan River Watershed Center
• Parking at Sportsman’s Park

This accessible trail and boardwalk offers an additional 1 mile of incredible views of the Jordan River and wetland habitats.

Nature Journaling

This summer event is a casual meet-up for people with an interest in sketching, exploring various media, trying new techniques and sharing tips and tricks. We will walk the Don & Eileen Klein boadwalk and sketch what we see.

Journal and paints will be included in the registration fee.


Walk the Wild 5K

Hosted by the Friends of the Jordan River Watershed, this family-friendly 5K winds through the forests and freshwater estuary that make the Jordan River Valley one of Michigan’s most treasured ecosystems.

Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to walk or simply enjoy the Don & Eileen Klein Nature Trail while supporting conservation, education, and stewardship of this remarkable watershed.

Dietrichs’ Day of Art

On March 22, 2025, from 10 AM to 5 PM, experience a vibrant showcase of photography, handcrafted birdhouses, and unique artwork, all created by talented local artist Dietrich. Whether you’re looking for a stunning nature-inspired print, a beautifully designed birdhouse, or an original piece of art, this is the perfect opportunity to find something special while supporting a great cause.

A portion of all proceeds from the event will be donated to Friends of the Jordan, helping to preserve and protect the Jordan River Valley. Stop by 101 Union St., East Jordan, MI, to browse, shop, and celebrate art that gives back to nature.
